Miss Dickson, Mr. Ramsey wed Oct. 6

MRS. BOSS MARTIN RAMSEY (COURTNEY LEA DICKSON) Courtney Lea Dickson and Boss Martin Ramsey exchanged marriage vows on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at Spiegel Farms in Campobello. Dr. Clyde Thomas officiated the 6 p.m. double ring ceremony. A reception, given by the family, followed.

Mr. and Mrs. Ramsey are making their home in Cowpens after a wedding trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

The bride is the daughter of Dennis Dickson of Gaffney and the late Betty Davis Dickson. Her grandparents are Hazel Davis of Gaffney, the late Charles Davis and the late Mr. and Mrs. Boyce Dickson. A graduate of Spartanburg Technical College, she is a LPN at DCI in Spartanburg.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Ramsey of Gaffney and Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Davis of Hartsville. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Duane Shaw of Gaffney, Margie Allison of Gaffney, Mr. and Mrs. Don Parris, all of Gaffney, and the late Bobby Allison. A graduate of Greenville Technical College, he is co-owner of Ramsey and Ramsey Builders and a Realtor with Buice-Bowers Realty.

Music was provided by the Starlight String Quartet. Joel Turner sang "Parents Prayer" and Carol Hulsey sang "Can't Live a Day." The vocalists performed "When God Made You" as a duet.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Samantha Whisnant of Gaffney as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Emily White of Spartanburg, Kristen Davis, Carrie Beattie, both of Clemson, Michelle Tessner of Blacksburg, Susan Smiley, Summer Vinesett, both of Gaffney, Samantha Brady of Hartsville and Meagan Pope of Duncan.

Taylor Smiley of Gaffney was the flower girl and Layton Sullivan, also of Gaffney, was the ring bearer.

The groom had his father as best man. Groomsmen were Davis Dickson, Michael Smiley, Jonathan Eggers, Travis Mullinax, Justin Whisnant, Chad Smithy, Patrick Sullivan, all of Gaffney, Joel Turner of Tennessee and Arnie Pope of Duncan.

Sharon Davis and Kristy Knox attended the guest register while programs were distributed by DaKota Jeffcoat and Harley Jeffcoat. The wedding was directed by Rita Owens of Lyman.

Honored guests at the ceremony were Lori Stanford, Denise Beattie and Tracy Jeffcoat.

The couple was honored with a number of showers and parties prior the wedding.

An engagement party was given April 14 at Daddy Joe's by Davis Dickson.

Kristy Knox, Shari Davis and Betty Shaw were hostesses for a room-to-room shower June 3.

An around-the-clock shower was given July 22 by Samantha Whisnant and Emily White.

Mr. and Mrs. Arnie Pope were hosts for a couples' shower on July 28.

A miscellaneous shower was given Aug. 19 by Jane Ramsey, Teresa Allison, Cheryl Allison, Andrea Gilfillan, Sharon Davis and Kristen Davis.

A miscellaneous shower was given Sept. 7 at Chandis Restaurant by the bride's co-workers.

The bride was entertained with a lingerie shower on Sept. 22 by her bridesmaids.

A miscellaneous shower was given Sept. 28 by the women of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church.
