Bobby Nance, Sr.
Bobby Gene Nance, Sr., 73, of 107 Woodside Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Blacksburg, he was the husband of Alice Jones Nance and the son of the late Freeman E. Nance and Myrtle
Crotts Nance. He was
a graduate of Gaffney
High School and Wofford College and a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Korean War. Mr. Nance was a retired textile chemical salesman and a member of Buford Street United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, surviving are a son, Bobby Nance Jr. of Gaffney; a daughter, Susan Mountain of Cowpens; a brother, Jerry Nance and wife, Charlene, of Union; three sisters, Evelyn Nance Medley, Erlene Nance Martin and husband, Hubert, and Martha Nance Hughey, and husband, Roger, all of Gaffney; two grandchildren, Taylor Mountain and Jared Nicholson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Nance was preceded in death by a brother, James Nance, and a sister, Ruth Randall.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Buford Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Watcher officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence at anytime. A private burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Buford Street United Methodist Church Building Fund, 120 East Buford Street, Gaffney, SC 29340.
