James H. Phillips
James Herman Phillips, 78, husband of Ethel Crawford Phillips of 100 Fairfield Drive, Apt. 13-A, passed away Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.
Mr. Phillips was born in Gaffney and was the son of the late Willie James Phillips and Florence Phillips Phillips. He
was a retired truck driver, a veteran of
the U.S. Army Air
Corps, the U.S. Air Force and lastly the Army National Guard. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Phillips is survived by two sons, Gary James Phillips of Hudson, Fla., and Curtis Mitchell Phillips of Gaffney; two daughters, Sandra Elaine Kent of Atlanta, Ga., and Tina Susann Welch of Ocala, Fla.; a sister, Barbara Ann Owens of Gaffney; five grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by a son, David Mitchell Phillips, and two brothers, Wofford and Charles Phillips.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 12:45- 1:45 p.m. at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home at Frederick Memorial Gardens. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home, 100 Fairfield Drive, Apt. 13-A, Gaffney.
