Joseph L. Brooks
CHESNEE - Joseph Lee ("Charlie Brown") Brooks, 26, of 650 Kegtown Mill Road died Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, in Rutherford County from injuries sustained in a automobile accident.
A native of Spartanburg County, he was born Jan. 27, 1981, a son of Roger and Janice Spivey Brooks of Chesnee. Joseph was a carpenter by trade and was of the Wesleyan faith.
Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Joe Spivey, and paternal grandmother, Maudie Brooks.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Dale Brooks and Christopher Brooks; maternal grandparents, Lottie and Jimmy Pruitt; two nephews and numerous aunts and uncles.
Services will be held today at 3 p.m. at Providence Wesleyan Church with the Revs. Ken Kirklyn and Doug Windsor officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m.
Visitation was held Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home, Cliffside, N.C .
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joseph Brooks Fund, 690 Kegtown Mill Road, Chesnee, S.C. 29323.
The family will be at the home of his aunt, 690 Kegtown Mill Road, Chesnee.
