Retired from U.S. Air Force and the textile industry

Harold Oneal Henderson, 78, of 232 Horsecreek Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at his residence.

Born in Spartanburg, he was the husband of Katherine Greenway Henderson and the son of the late Ben Lee and

Leater Henderson Lee. He was retired

from United States

Air Force and the textile industry. Mr. Henderson was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife, surviving are two sons, Chuck Henderson and Billy Henderson, both of Chesnee; two daughters, Mona Thrift and husband, Wesley, and Nona Thrift, all of Mayo; four sisters, Flora Jolley and husband, Ed, Kathy Overcash and husband, Ralph, all of Chesnee, Betty Abernathy and Faye Smith and husband, R.C., all of Inman; seven grandchildren, Christina Henderson, Holly Henderson, Danielle Henderson, Tiffany Henderson Godfrey, Crystal Jones, Travis Thrift and Gina Hannigan; 10 great-grandchildren, Tina Marie Johnson, Austin Johnson, Gabby Godfrey, Abigail Godfrey and Naomie Humphries, Kayley Thrift, Rachel Campbell, J Campbell, Harley Hannigan and Shelby Hannigan.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Lee and Russell Lee; and a grandson, Ritchie Thrift.

The family will receive friends today from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 4 p.m. in Fingerville Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. Full military rites will be provided by the United States Air Force.
