CHESNEE - Effie Lorie Philbeck Green, 90, of 239 Parris Farm Rd., passed away Tuesday night, Nov, 20, 2007, at her residence.

Mrs. Green was the widow of Zeno Green and daughter of the late Quince Valentine Philbeck and the late Dovie Lovelace Philbeck. A native of Cleveland County, N.C., she was a homemaker and member of Brooklyn Baptist Church.

Mrs. Green is survived by a son, Joseph Paul Green, of the home and a daughter, Joyce Green Stubbs of Gaffney; a half brother, Lewis Philbeck; 10 grandchildren; 20 greatgrandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Green was also preceded in death by three sons, Robert Green, Carl Green and the Rev. Fred Green, and a brother, Jasper Philbeck.

Visitation will be held Friday from 1:45-2:45 p.m. in the chapel of Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home at Frederick Memorial Gardens. Graveside services will follow the visitation at 3 p.m. in Frederick Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Charles Garrett Sr. officiating.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 120 Haywood Ave., Suite 300, Spartanburg, S.C. 29302.

The family is at the residence at times other than services.
