Linda Marie Dowdle Kennedy, 63, of 108 Osment St., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, at her residence.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of Archie Kennedy and daughter of the late Oliver Lee Dowdle and Nellie Phillips Dowdle. Mrs. Kennedy was a graduate of Gaffney High School, retired from Alcoa and was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

She is survived by a sister, Lueva D. Drake, and her husband, Joe, of Gaffney.

Graveside services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Frederick Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Scott Kierstead. The family met with friends at the graveside following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church, Music Department, 1508 Cherokee Ave., Gaffney, S.C. 29340.

The family will be at the home of Lueva and Joe Drake, 393 Natures Trail, Gaffney.
