Danni's gymnasts compete in Greenwood
Five members of competition team participate; two win first place awards
Maddie Norton, a Level 8 gymnast, placed fourth on vault, second on bars and beam and third on floor and finished second all around with a score of 34.350 at the Greenwood competition in November Danni's Gymnastics competition team participated in the Pajama Party Competition hosted by the Greenwood YMCA on Saturday, Nov. 10.
Aleka Tsiknias, daughter of Striker and Janet Tsiknias, competed in Level 4 and placed first on beam, fifth on vault with a score of 8.525, second on bars, fourth on floor and second all-around.
Danni had three Level 5 gymnasts competing - Hannah Bowers, daughter of Will and Jeannine Bowers; Mackenzie Elmore, daughter of Adam and Bobbi Berg; and Michaela Lee, daughter of Mike and Marisa Lee.
Hannah placed second on floor with a score of 8.775, sixth on bars and beam, and fifth all-around. Mackenzie placed second on bars with a score of 8.525 and seventh allaround. Michaela placed second on vault, second on bars, first on beam with a score of 8.775 and first allaround.
Maddie Norton, daughter of Norman and Lisa Norton, is a Level 8 gymnast and is an eighth grader at Gaffney Middle School. She practices gymnastics 3.5 hours per day, five days a week. Maddie has been a gymnast since she was seven years old. In the Greenwood competition, she placed fourth on vault with 8.2, second on bars, second on beam with 9.05 and third on floor with 8.625. She finished second all-around with a score of 34.350.
