MOORESBORO, N.C. - Horace Cobb, 76, of 2901 Fox Place, passed away on December 26, 2007, at Rutherford Hospital.

Born in Mooresboro, he was the son of the late Odell Cobb and Ruby Ellis Cobb. Mr. Cobb was a veteran of the United States Army, having served his country in Korea. He was retired from The Timken Company and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by two sons, Robert L. Cobb and his wife, Carol, and Daniel J. Cobb; six grandchildren, Kevin Cobb, Daniel J. Cobb Jr., Sarah Childers and her husband, Anthony, Amy Duffie and her husband, Jamie, Ruthie Martin and her husband, Timothy, and Haley Thomas; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31, in Lavonia Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by Mr. Ashby Blakely. The family will meet with friends at the graveside after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, N.C. 28150.
