Winfred Pennington
Winfred Larry Pennington, 64, of 283 Great Meadows Road, passed away on December 25, 2007, at his residence.
Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late John Henry Pennington and Rosa Lee Parker Pennington. Mr. Pennington was a veteran of the United States Army, having served his country in Vietnam in the Army Airborne. Retired from Taylor- Watson Furniture Company, he was a member of the local VFW and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by a daughter, Tracy Pennington of Charlotte; two brothers, Wendell Pennington and wife, Myrtle, of Morganton, N.C., and Jerry Pennington of Gaffney; and three sisters, Peggy Oakes, Betty Crowe and Trudy Reynolds and husband, Joe, all of Gaffney.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Pennington was preceded in death by two brothers, Essel Pennington and Henry Pennington.
Visitation was held Thursday from 3-4 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Services followed at 4 p.m. in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Terry Pleasant and Mr. Ashby Blakely. Interment was in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
