Betty Lou Phillips Betty Lou Wood Phillips, 71, of 1865 Twin Bridge Road, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of Robert Phillips and daughter of the late John Baxter Wood and Maggie Corrine White Wood. She was a homemaker and member of Grassy Pond Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Robert G. Phillips Jr. of Sophia, Bulgaria, and John T. Phillips and wife, Beth, of Gaffney; two sisters, Eleanor Pettit of Spindale, N.C., and Mildred Wood of Gaffney; four grandchildren, Emily Claire Phillips, Luke Jennings Phillips, William Seth Phillips and Stanley Yeargin, all of Gaffney The family will receive friends today from 2-3:30 p.m. at Grassy Pond Baptist Church. Services will be immediately following at 3:30 p.m., conducted by Dr. Roger Aycock. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Grassy Pond Baptist Church Youth Fund, 254 Grassy Pond Road, Gaffney, S.C. 29341. The family is at the home.
