Moree S. Upchurch
Seamstress in textiles

Moree Sutton Upchurch, 85, of 1084 Bonner Road, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born in Blacksburg, she was the wife of Arthur Dean "Cosmo" Upchurch Sr. and daughter of the late Arthur Odell Sutton and the late Dora Lee Durham Sutton. She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church and was a seamstress in textiles.

Surviving in addition to her husband are six sons, Roger Moore, David Upchurch, Bill Upchurch, Arthur (Toby) Upchurch Jr., all of Gaffney, Arthur Charles Moore of New York and Charles Moore of Blacksburg; four daughters, Patricia Norman of York, Brenda Eubanks, Sybil McAbee, both of Gaffney, and Kathy Whitesides of Duncan; 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Upchurch was preceded in death by a son, Robert Upchurch.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Ray Mullinax. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Smith, Danny Bell, John Upchurch, Paul Norman, Chris Turner and David Margiretta.

The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary and at other times they will be at the home of Ken Eubanks, 205 Beaver Ridge Road, Gaffney.
