Cops play ball to help student

      The Pig Bowl was a success Saturday. Not only were funds raised for a Limestone College student who has Hodgkins' lymphoma cancer, but the rivalry between the Gaffney Police Department and Cherokee County Sheriff's Department deputies was once again renewed on the field.

Indians take another hit

      The good news for the Gaffney High baseball team was that they battled back from a large deficit. The bad news was - where do you want to start? The Indians struck out nine times, left runners in scoring position and gave up too many walks in a 6-5 loss to visiting Hillcrest on Friday.

Indians struggle at Capital Classic

      Daniel Whisenant was the lone bright spot for the Gaffney golf team at the Capital Classic. Whisenant fired a 79-77 - 156 to finish 12th out of the 104 golfers who competed in the 2-day event.
