Thomas Allen Lynn
Former Cherokee County Administrator
Thomas Allen Lynn, 58, of 125 Gentle Lane, went home to be with the Lord on March 12, 2007, while in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Born in Raleigh, N.C., he was the husband of Helen Vas Lynn and son of the late Richard Lynn and Florence
Mitchell. He graduated
from LaSalle University
and was a major in the U.S. Army and also served in the U.S. Marines in Vietnam.
Mr. Lynn was formerly the Cherokee County Administrator. He was also a former City Administrator in Mauldin and in Tifton, Ga. A member of the Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club and American Legion, he was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, James Lynn and wife, Takako, of Raleigh, N.C.; a stepson, Robert Perry and wife, Kristina, of Johnson City, Tenn.; three daughters, Dominique Lynn of the home, Stacy Jordan of Jacksonville, N.C., and Melissa Dameron of Louisburg, N.C.; three brothers, Joe Allen, Ricky Furby and Perry Mitchell, all of Raleigh; four sisters, June Bruusema, Margaret Spencer and Barbara Welch, all of Raleigh, and Mary Diaz of Charlotte; and nine grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 12:30-2 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Services will be in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m., immediately following visitation, and will be conducted by the Rev. Joel Sellers. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
