Man arrested for forcing himself on wife A man has been arrested after he allegedly attempted to force himself on his wife on Tuesday, a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office states. Billy Wayne Laughlin, 46, of 123 Club View Drive, Gaffney, has been charged with criminal sexual conduct. He has been released from the Cherokee County Detention Center on $35,000 bond. The 44-year-old woman told police that Laughlin held her down and tried to force her to have sex with him, but she fought him off by biting and scratching him, the report states. Police said they noticed marks on both the man and woman. Deputy B.L. Mullinax arrested Laughlin after he told the officer he wanted to have sex with the woman, according to the report. Detective Mark Vanderburg also responded to the couple's home to investigate. |
