Wilburn "W.C." Carvis Davis, 76, a resident of Brookview HealthCare Center, formerly of First Street in Gaffney, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late Goin Carvis Davis and Myrtle McCraw Davis and husband of Mary Dean Messer Davis of Gaffney. Mr. Davis was a retired manager of Kentucky Fried Chicken and was a member of West End Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Ricky Davis and wife, Tracy, of Gaffney; two daughters, Kathy Lowery and husband, Tony, and Rita Cash and husband, Earby, all of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Paula Parker, Melissa Taylor, Ashley Arrowood, Sy Davis and Tyler Davis; and two greatgrandchildren, Kolbe Taylor and Emalee Taylor.

Mr. Davis was also preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Davis.

Graveside services were held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Frederick Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Richard Harrison. The family met with friends at the graveside following the service.
