Vivian Harkey Stanley, 93, of 223 Tiffany Park, died Thursday, June 14, 2007, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born in Richfield, N.C., she was the widow of Roger Luther Stanley and daughter of the late Martin Luther and Beatrice Morris Harkey. For many years she was associated with Sew Special in Asheboro, N.C. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Asheboro and First Baptist Church of Gaffney. She was a former Sunday School teacher, served as secretary and president of the Sunshine Club, and she loved to quilt, embroider, cook and sew.

Surviving are a son, Buddy Roger Stanley of Lawrenceville, G.; a daughter, Margaret S. Woodcock of Gaffney; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Stanley was also preceded in death by two brothers.

The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter at 213 Crestview Drive.

Services will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Asheboro, with the Rev. Mark Hall officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Gaffney Building Fund or to the Senior Centers of Cherokee County.
