Joyce Parris Joyce Nodine Parris, 79, a resident of Brookview Healthcare Center for 14 years, formerly of Limestone Courts, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at Brookview. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Nodine and Lois Sloan Nodine and widow of Guy Hollis Parris. Mrs. Parris was a homemaker and member of Rose Hill Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Hilda High and husband, Fred, of Greenville, Martha Thornton and husband, Joe, and Sally Blanton and husband, Doug, all of Gaffney: six grandchildren, Heather Leckie, Christopher Thornton, Suzanne McEntire, Matthew Thornton, Kathy Jo Bratton and Dave Blanton; and five great-grandchildren, Joshua Leckie, Madison Baebler, McCrae Thornton, Benjamin McEntire and Bo Bratton. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Parris was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Nodine. Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Dr. Wofford Caughman. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. Visitation was held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church Building Fund, 204 O'Neal St., Gaffney, S.C. 29340.
