WHAT'S UP Meetings The regular monthly meeting of the Cherokee County Development Board will be held Monday, June 25, at noon in the board room at Spartanburg Community College Cherokee Campus. Lunch will be served. The Gaffney Business and Professional Women's Club will meet Monday, June 25, at House of Pizza at 6:30 p.m The program will be "Year of the Woman Leader." Guests and prospective new members are welcome. Church news Cherokee Falls Baptist Church, 109 School St., Cherokee Falls, will have a singing June 24 at 6 p.m. featuring The Phillips Family. The Vinnie Byers Missionary Circle of Bethel Baptist Church will celebrate its anniversary June 24 at 10:30 a.m. Missionaries will be in charge of the pulpit services. Speaker will be the Rev. Vincent Wilkins, associate minister of Bethel. Shady Grove Church will have its annual graduation service June 24 at 11 a.m. Kindergarten, high school and college graduates will be recognized and receive awards. Speaker will be Gerald Clowney, an Upward Bound counselor at University of South Carolina Upstate. The Senior Missionary of Youngs Grove Baptist Church in Blacksburg will have its annual missionary program on June 24 at 3 p.m. Guest speaker will be Dr. Michael Bridges, pastor of Concord Baptist Church, Gaffney. Dr. Bridges will be accompanied by his choirs and congregation. The Shady Grove Church deacons and trustees will sponsor a workshop June 23 from 10-11 a.m. Facilitators will be the Rev. Les Howard of Galilee Baptist Church and the Rev. Darryl Smith, pastor of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Deacons, trustees and all men are invited to attend. Annual Youth Day services will be held June 24 at 9:30 a.m. at Island Creek Baptist Church, 2112 Battleground Road, Cowpens. Youths will be in charge of the pulpit services. Music will be presented by the Sunbeam and Young Adult choirs and guest speaker will be Todd Hardy, principal for the Freshman Academy at Byrnes High School, Duncan. Captains for Youth Day are Jazlyn Holmes and Travios West. Revival services will be held June 24-28 at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Homecoming services will be held Sunday during the morning worship hour with Pastor Freddie Davidson delivering the message. Dinner will be served following service. Revival will continue June 25-28 at 7 p.m. Speaker will be the Rev. Les Howard, pastor of Galilee Baptist Church, Blacksburg. Princess Smith, associate minister at Limestone Missionary Baptist Church, will be guest speaker June 24 at 11 a.m. at Way of Life Praise and Worship Center. Pastors are Bishop Harold and Pastor Caroline Jones. The Women's Ministry of Limestone Missionary Baptist Church will have its second annual Women's Conference June 23 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Topic will be "Matters of the Heart." Speaker will be Chaundra G. Irvin. A donation of $10, which includes breakfast and lunch, is requested. The Inspirational Choir of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its 12th anniversary June 24 at 4 p.m. Fund raisers Bo Martin and Rolling Thunder and The Broad River Cru- saders will be featured at a fundraiser Saturday, June 23, for Camps Creek Baptist Church's Navaho Mission Team that will be leaving Aug. 3 for Kayenta, Ariz., where they will build a youth center on the Navaho Reservation. In addition to music, there will be hot dogs, hamburgers, Slushies and Hawaiian ice. The event will be at the home of Johnny and Joyce Stacey from 4-8 p.m. Bring a lawn chair. "Graduate to Great...The Jesus Way" is the theme for Vacation Bible School at Allen Temple C.M.E. Church, June 25-29. Classes for all ages will be offered from 6:30-8:30. Zion will have Vacation Bible School June 25-29 from 6-8 p.m. The theme is "Do The Right Thing." First Baptist Church of Gaffney will have Vacation Bible School themed "Game Day Central" June 24-28 from 5:30-9 p.m. Classes will be for Preschool 2 through Grade 5 (2006-2007 school year). Supper will be provided. Corinth Baptist Church will hold Vacation Bible School June 24-28 from 6-8:30 p.m. There will lots of fun and Bible adventures with a free supper served for all.
