Katherine T. Bright SHELBY - Katherine Turner Bright, 86, of 1550 Charles Road, widow of Oliver Lee Bright, moved into her eternal home on Thursday, June 21, 2007. Originally from Gaffney, she lived for many years in Santee Cooper before moving to Shelby. She was a homemaker and member of Landmark Baptist Church. Mrs. Bright was the daughter of the late Wyatt and Lola Sellers Turner. She was also preceded in death by a son, Donald William Bright; a grandson, Donald Bright; and a sister and brother-in-law, Corrine and Daniel David. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Edwin Smith of High Point, N.C., and Nancy and Larry Lovelace of Shelby; a brother and sister-in-law, B.W. (Billy) and Margaret Turner of Gaffney; nine grandchildren, Debbie and Michael Frisbee of Kentucky, Curt and Susan Lovelace of Gastonia, Shelia and Frankie Messamore of Auburn, Ga., Joanne and Phillip Gilbert of Greensboro, Cynthia and Dale Sloan of Mt. Airy, N.C., Marty Martin of Green Creek, N.C., Chris Malone of Wallburg, N.C., Blake Smith of Myrtle Beach and Sandy Martin of Boiling Springs, S.C.; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bright's family of the heart included all of the staff, employees and residents of Carillon Assisted Living. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Philip Harper officiating. The family is at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Larry Lovelace, 928 Costner Road, Shelby.
