Two out-of-state men face drug charges here

      Two men from Colorado and Iowa were charged with crack cocaine possession last week when Metro Narcotics Unit agents executed a search warrant at a Gaffney hotel. James Stone Robben, 43, of Denver, Colo., was arrested at 10:15 a.m. with Michael Wayne Bentley, 54, of Keokuk, Iowa.

Coroner gives tips for a safe Fourth

      Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler is urging local residents to make their safety a priority while enjoying the Fourth of July holiday and summer leisure activities. There have been seven traffic fatalities and an accidental drowning in Cherokee County this year.

Wilkins gets 2007 CSWCD scholarship
      The Commissioners of the Cherokee Soil and Water Conservation District have announced that Jamison Brett Wilkins is recipient of the 2007 Conservation District Scholarship. Wilkins graduated from Gafffney High School in June with a GPA of 3.574.
