School trustee reports stickers stolen from license tag Cherokee County School District Trustee Sandra Greene has reported that someone stole the month and year stickers off the license plate of her 2003 Honda, a report at the Gaffney Police Department states. She contacted police at 3 p.m. Wednesday while at work at the Department of Social Services, 1434 N. Limestone St., Gaffney, and told officers she had noticed that someone removed the "January" and "2008" stickers. Copper cable stolen from Duke Approximately $500 in copper cable was stolen from the Duke Energy Mill Creek Turbine at 317 Elm Road in Blacksburg, according to a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. Someone cut a lock on a fenced storage area at the site, the report states. Man says he was robbed of $10,000 A Blacksburg man told police that he was assaulted by two black men and robbed of $10,000 at 10 a.m. Thursday, a report at the Gaffney Police Department states. The 38-year-old man said he was at West Carlisle Street and Beltline Road when the two men jumped him and took his wallet and the money. He said the men left in a blue Ford Crown Victoria, but could not give police any further information about the suspects. Spartanburg teens arrested here Sheriff's deputies arrested three Spartanburg teens Wednesday for allegedly vandalizing a light post. Zachary Ryan Hodges, 18, Nesahualcoyalt Ramon Rodriguez, 18, and Lauren Paige Taylor, 18, have each been charged with malicious damage to property. Taylor has also been charged with public disorderly conduct. Lt. Jason Burgess and reserve deputy Doug Goodwin of the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded to Planters Drive and Twin Bridge Road at 3 a.m. after someone reported that three people were throwing objects at a light post at the intersection. Police say symbols match Police said that hand-drawn symbols on a cigarette pack found in the front seat of a vehicle stopped by officers match the symbols that have been spray painted throughout town recently, a report at the Gaffney Police Department states. Aaron Blakely Scruggs, 17, of 516 E. Buford St., Gaffney, has been charged with possession of marijuana. Justin Lee Bolin, 18, of 319 Frye Road, Gaffney, has been charged with driving under suspension. Scruggs, Bolin, and two juveniles were stopped by police after an officer heard tires squealing behind Granard Middle School at 8 p.m. Wednesday, the report states. Officer C. Hutchins stopped the vehicle at West Rutledge and South Oliver streets after it left the school. When police approached the vehicle, they saw a bag containing 1.7 grams of marijuana being tossed out the passenger side rear window. Scruggs told police the marijuana was his, according to the report. The juveniles were turned over to their parents. |
