Education

The Cherokee County Adult/Community Eduction Program will offer a keyboarding class beginning Tuesday, Sept. 18. Participants will learn the entire computer keyboard, number pad and basic formatting formulas for documents such as letters, memos, resumes and charts. If interested, call the Adult Education Office, 487-7152 or 487-1209. The Adult Education Office is located at 130 Leadmine St.

Church news

Park Hills Baptist Church will have a Poor Man's supper on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 5 p.m. After the meal there will be a Hee- Haw show. For ticket information, call the church at 489-3344.

A benefit gospel singing for a Kentucky mission trip will be held Sept. 15 at Holy Grounds Christian Cafe, 510 S. Main St., Clover. Featured singers will be Higher Calling. Food will be available. For more information, call 803-389-4409.

Special events

Waterfall Crafters will hold their 19th annual craft show and sale Sept. 21-22 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at St. Timothy Methodist Church, corner of Asheville Highway and Hospital Drive in Brevard, N.C. Many new juried artisans will offer a wide variety of diverse quality crafts. Lunch, snacks and beverages will be available. Daisy the clown will be on hand to entertain. Support groups

The Cherokee County Alzheimer's support group will meet Thursday, Sept. 13, at noon at Magnolia's of Gaffney, 223 Tiffany Park. All caregivers, family and friends of persons with Alzheimer's disease are welcome. Lunch will be provided by Magnolia's of Gaffney. Call ahead if you would like the chapter to provide a sitter at no charge so you can attend the meeting.
