Miss Smith, Mr. Batchler exchange marriage vows

Jennifer Dawn Smith of Blacksburg and Joshua Colt Batchler of Gaffney were married July 7, 2007, at Buffalo Baptist Church in Blacksburg. The Rev. Bruce Price conducted the 3 p.m. double ring ceremony. A reception, given by the bride's parents, followed in the church fellowship hall.
Mrs. Batchler is the daughter of Donna and Greg Smith of Blacksburg and granddaughter of Betty and Billy Smith of Gaffney, Nancy Young of Blacksburg and Frank and Gloria Sutton of Clover. A 2002 graduate of Blacksburg High School and 2006 graduate of Limestone College, she is an eighth grade teacher at Gaffney Middle School.
Mr. Batchler is the son of John and Terri Dorshimer of Gaffney and the late Drayton "Zippy" Batchler. His grandparents are Sybil McCraw of Gaffney, the late Mr. and Mrs. Drayton Batchler Sr. and the late Gerald McCraw. A 2003 graduate of Blacksburg High School and 2007 graduate of Limestone College, he is a physical education teacher at coach at Blacksburg High School.
The couple are making their home in Gaffney after a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach.
Lynn Sisk was the pianist. Philip and Monica Martin sang "When God Made You" and "The Prayer."
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a white satin A-line gown enhanced with beaded metallic embroidery on the bodice and chapel train. Her teardrop veil featured a scalloped beaded edge. She carried a bouquet of pink and white roses, white lilies and ivy.
Savannah Wilkins of Gaffney attended the bride as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Lacey Clark, Sonya Price, Ashlee Gordon, all of Blacksburg, and Kandi Hughes, sister of the groom, of Gaffney. Kennedy Gordon of Blacksburg was the junior bridesmaid.
The attendants were attired in azalea satin sleeveless v-neck dresses and carried a variety of pink and white spring flowers.
Sarah Price and Taylor Brown, both of Blacksburg, were flower girls. They wore white dresses and carried baskets of pink and white rose petals.
David Price of Blacksburg was the ring bearer.
Alex Bailey of Blacksburg was the groom's best man. Groomsmen were John Dorshimer, stepfather of the groom, Keith Batchler Jr., cousin of the groom, both of Gaffney, Derrick Smith, brother of the bride, and Ben Touchberry, both of Blacksburg. Austin Gordon of Blacksburg served as junior groomsman.
Ushers were Roy Dorshimer, stepbrother of the groom, of Gaffney, B.J. Allum and Brent Clary, both of Blacksburg.
