Necy F. Roberts Cherokee County native Necy Fowler Roberts, 74, of 108 Camellia Circle, widow of Fleet Roberts Jr., died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at Forsyth Medical Hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C. Born June 6, 1933, in Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Fowler Sr. and the late Maggie William Fowler. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and member of the Senior Missionary, Usher Board and YWA. While living in Winston-Salem, she attended New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her sisters, brothers and grandson, Kenard Sprinkle. Surviving are two sons, Fleet Roberts III (Donna) of Yulee, Fla., and Brian Roberts of Gaffney; two daughters, Necia Roberts Lipscomb of Winston- Salem and Susie Michell Roberts of Spartanburg; reared as her son and daughter, Thomas Lipscomb of Winston-Salem and Eddika Foster of Spartanburg; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; five sisters-in-law, Jean Fowler, Elda Sue Fowler, Bernice Fowler, Stella Fowler and Francis Fowler; a goddaughter, Kay Davidson; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Freddy Davidson and others. Body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Pallbearers and flower bearers will be her nephews, nieces and church members. The family is at the home of her daughter, Susie Michell Roberts, 175 Idlewood Circle, in the Idlewood community of Spartanburg County. Arrangements by Foster Funeral Home. |
