Thinks BHS coaching staff needs to go

I agree with Mrs. Hames and Mr. Mullinax that it is time for Coach (Robbie) Blanton to go.

Blacksburg has become the joke of our region. I am sick of the excuses that we are young and it's the kids' fault.

Not only does Coach Blanton need to go, but the entire varsity coaching staff. The offensive and defensive coaches have also proven their inability to coach as well. We need a coach from outside of Cherokee County, whose sole purpose is to turn the football program around. Let's get out of the good ole boy system and hire a coach with a proven record and not because of whose buddy he is or who his daddy is.

I am proud of BHS and its staff and let's not forget our school board trustees who have fought hard for what we have in Blacksburg, the new ninth grade addition and the new fieldhouse.

We will be moving back to 1A next year, just look at some of these campuses and compare them to BHS. There is no comparison. Our school board needs to finish the job in Blacksburg by replacing Coach Blanton and his staff. I think our kids deserve it and so does the Blacksburg community.

We must remember this is not personal. He was hired to coach our kids and he simply is not getting the job done. If you feel the same way please don't sit back and do nothing. Call your school trustees and let them know how you feel.
