Mildred Bell Mildred Spearman Lipscomb Bell, 88, of 157 Elmwood Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 1, 2007 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Lloyd Lipscomb and Cmdr. O.K. Bell. Bell was a homemaker and a member of Goucher Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Huskey of Gaffney; a sister, Frances Walker of California; a granddaughter, Alice Bratcher and husband Dan; a grandson reared in the home, Sgt. James Martin and his wife, Melissa Smarr Martin; five greatgrandchildren, Britney Martin, Kayla Martin, Kirby Martin, Abbey Bratcher and Jessica Bratcher. Bell was preceded in death by a daughter, Emily Lipscomb; two sons, Billy Lipscomb and Jim Lipscomb; two brothers, James Spearman and William H. Spearman; five sisters, Mary Wingo, Alice Lipscomb, Anna Spearman, Lillian Becker and Sarah Spearman. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Goucher Baptist Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday with the Revs. Norman Gardner, Dewitt Clyde and Flor Moraes officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Goucher Baptist Church Renovation Fund, 415 Goucher Creek Road, Gaffney, SC 29340. The family is at the residence.
