Mitchell (Mickey) Humphries

Mitchell Humphries, 64, of 2008 Batchelor Road, went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 1 at his residence.

Born in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Arthur Glen Humphries and Beulah Humphries. He was retired from Duke Power, a member of Blue Ridge Masonic Lodge no. 92 and a Shriner. Humphries was a member of Lavonia Baptist Church.

He is survived by three sons, Randy Humphries and his wife Kim of Columbia, Scott Humphries and his wife Darlene of Mooresboro, N.C., Clayton Humphries of Boiling Springs, N.C., a stepson, Scott Lucas; a stepdaughter, Crystal Lucas; four sisters, Prella Arrowood and Elma Harris of Mooresville, N.C., Irene Harmon of Rutherfordton, N.C. and Margaret Batchelor of Gaffney; along with eight grandchildren.

Humphries was preceded in death by four brothers, Boyce, A.G., Edward and Gene, as well as four sisters, Lucille, Evelyn, Janice and Carole.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11 a.m. in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Ashby Blakely officiating. Interment will be in Cleveland Memorial Park.
