Betty Camp Vernon
Betty Camp Vernon, 54, of 416 Northgate Road, passed away this morning at 12:10 a.m at her residence.

A native of Cherokee County, she was the wife of the Rev. David Dean Vernon and the daughter of the late Lloyd Camp and the late Christine L. Camp, she was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and musician, and a member of the young adult and Y.W.A., and the church secretary.

She was a graduate of Gaffney High School's class of 1971 and Spartanburg Tech, along with being a former employee of C&S Bank. She was employed as a personnel director of Cherokee County Council.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by five sons, Chadrick D. Vernon, Jeremy D. Vernon, Zavion Littlejohn, Davion Littlejohn, and David Tate of Gaffney; a daughter, Janeka Sharpe of Columbia; a brother, George Camp of Gaffney; two sisters, Delilah Camp and Everlean Allen of Gaffney; and eight grandchildren.

Foster Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
