Woman cuffed after accident
By TIM GULLA Ledger Staff Writer tim@gaffneyledger.com

Police place Heather Motts in handcuffs after an accident Tuesday.
A Blacksburg woman was placed in handcuffs Monday afternoon following a two-car accident that briefly snarled traffic on West Floyd Baker Boulevard.

Gaffney resident Charles Gregory said he was driving to work Monday evening, proceeding under a green light on West Floyd Baker, when a car pulled out from the McDonald's restaurant into his path. He said he couldn't avoid the other car and the resulting collision set off the air bags on his Suzuki sport utility vehicle.

According to an accident report, the driver of the other car, Heather Maggie Motts, of Mountain View Drive, Blacksburg, did not have automobile insurance.

The Nissan that Motts was driving had a temporary license plate scheduled to expire Jan. 17 and the car still had a Blacksburg auto dealer sticker in the rear window.

No injuries were reported and both cars were towed from the scene.
