Harold Knuckles

COLUMBIA - Harold Knuckles, 61, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, in Columbia.

A native of Cherokee County, he was the widower of Janice Smith Knuckles Edwards and son of the late Thomas Harris and the late Theodocia Knuckles Littlejohn. He was a 1967 graduate of Granard High School and a retired member of the Cherokee County National Guard as well as Bommers Industry. He was also a Vietnam veteran, where he was a recipient of two Purple Hearts.

He is survived by six children, Harold Dean Knuckles, Tammie Knuckles, Carlos Coleman, Jonathan Coleman, Tamika Coleman and Claude Coleman, all of Gaffney; six brothers, Walter Littlejohn, Clarence Littlejohn and Sammie Littlejohn, all of Gaffney; Eddie Harris, Cornell Harris and Johnny Harris, all of Detroit, Mich.; 10 sisters, Rebecca Littlejohn, Edna Messer, Linda Bonner, Sylvia Littlejohn, Nancy Hopper, Marilyn Wagner, Zelda Littlejohn, Thomasina Miller and Michele Littlejohn, all of Gaffney; and Patricia Kennerson, of Norfolk, Va. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, five aunts and two uncles.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with the Rev. Darrell Smith and others officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military rites. He will lie instate at 1 p.m. until the hour of the service.

Pall bearers will be Brian Makupson, Steve Curtis, William Knuckles, Michael Wood, Jeff Bonner, Tyrone Smith and Darryl Tate.

The family is at the home of his brother, Clarence Littlejohn, at 516 McCluney Drive.

Foster Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
