Joyce Martin (Byars)

Joyce Ann Martin (Byars), 59, of 523 W. Montgomery St., Westwind Village II, Apt. 3, passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at her residence.

Born in Gaffney, Joyce was a daughter of the late Nelson and Juanita Cooper Parris. She was a homemaker and a loving and devoted daughter, mother, grandmother and sister.

Surviving are her daughters, Donna Robertson, Angela Byars, Chrystal Byars and Jo Ann Byars, all of Gaffney; a son, Randall Martin of Gaffney; two sisters, Kay Harrison of Gaffney and Donna Littlejohn of Spartanburg; and six grandchildren, Justin Parris, Devin Hollis, McKayla Byars, Spencer Robertson, Damien Dawkins and Markell Hollis.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Parris.

Graveside services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Frederick Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Revs. Jim McClure, Scott Kierstead and Antoinette Gardner.

Pallbearers were Marshall Hollis, Brad Robertson, Terence Dawkins, Isaac Bridges, Franklin Littlejohn and Randy Martin.

Visitation was held Tuesday from 12:45-1:45 p.m. at Shuford Hatcher Funeral Home at Frederick Memorial Gardens prior to the service.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Angela Byars, 410 Browning Road.
