Mary Ann Dawkins

Mary Ann Dawkins, 81, of Craigwood Apartments, Apt. 103, 506 S. Oliver St., died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at 4:17 p.m. in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

A native of Cherokee County, she was the widow of Jack Leonard Dawkins and daughter of the late James Steen and the late Mary Shippy Steen. She was a member Indian Hill Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Gospel Choir and the Senior Citizens Club. She attended Bethel Day Care.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Surviving are a brother, Eugene Steen of Pittsburgh, Pa.; reared in the home as a daughter, LaTina Allen; four grandchildren, Scottehsa Allen, Modesty Allen, Kellie Garrett and Dionte' Riley; and a great-grandchild, Amaya Allen.

Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Indian Hill Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Mary D. Jefferies and others. Burial will be in Green Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Spartanburg. Body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.
