Feds indict Gaffney woman on possessing stolen mail charge

A Gaffney woman was indicted Wednesday by a federal grand jury in Greenville on a charge of possession of stolen mail.

The charge against Metta Pridmore, 26, stemmed from an investigation by the United States Postal Inspector. Pridmore allegedly was part of a group that was stealing mail to obtain money.

Pridmore is scheduled for arraignment in federal court in Greenville on Dec. 27.

The maximum penalty for the charge she faces is five years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine, according to the U.S. Attorneys Office.

In unrelated cases, the federal grand jury on Wednesday also indicted Jamie Catalano, 36, of Boiling Springs, on charges of wire fraud and transportation of stolen goods; and April Nicole Garrett, 34, of Spartanburg, on charges of credit card fraud, aggravated identity theft, and purposefully redirecting the mail.
