Merchants impressed with O'Donald's efforts

Dear Editor:

The Downtown Merchants Association, which recently sponsored "Christmas On Limestone," expresses gratitude to Loretta O'Donald, who chaired this year's annual event.

The festivities attracted several thousand people to stroll from store to store, sample the tasty wares of several food providers, take a carriage ride or a tractor drawn vehicle ride over a six-block area.

The crowd also admired the Festival of Trees displayed in city hall, the beautifully decorated shop windows of downtown merchants, listened to a variety of musical groups with songs of the season, toured the Michael Gaffney cabin, and got a head-start on their Christmas shopping.

These activities required months of planning and organization, all done under the skillful hand of Loretta O'Donald and her committee.

This most talented lady is a real asset to Gaffney and deserves applause for her expertise and community service.

Sincerely, Downtown Merchants Association

Gaffney, SC
