Miss Jones, Mr. Littlejohn speak vows

MRS. MARVIN DEWAYNE LITTLEJOHN (DETRIC MICHELLE JONES)
Detric Michelle Jones and Marvin Dewayne Littlejohn were married Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Concord Baptist Church. Dr. Michael A. Bridges performed the 3 p.m. double ring ceremony.

Mr. and Mrs. Littlejohn are making their home in Gaffney after a wedding trip to Charleston.

The bride is the daughter of the Rev. John H. Williams of Gaffney and Joyce Jones of Gaffney. Her grandparents are the late Lewis and Dorotha Jones. A graduate of Gaffney Senior High School, she is employed by ColdWater Management.

Mr. Littlejohn is the son of Callean Littlejohn of Gaffney and the late Larry Bonner. His grandmother is the late Dophie Littlejohn. A graduate of Gaffney Senior High School, he is employed by Allied Waste Management.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Broad River Electric, given by family and friends.

Vocalists Earl Vernon, Terri Hall and James Posey sang "Seasons." Mr. Posey performed "Forever" and "I Was Made to Love You." Mr. Vernon rendered "The Lord's Prayer." Mr. Vernon and Ms. Hall sang "Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This" as a duet and the three vocalists performed "We're Gonna Make It."

The sanctuary was decorated on each side of the aisle with ivory net swag drapes that connected into a bow at the end of each pew. In the middle aisle was a bridal arch trimmed with ivory roses, greenery and ivy.

Escorted and given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a pink gown featuring a portrait neckline and detachable sleeves. Lace appliques adorned the satin bodice and crystals accented the shirred yoke and detachable royal train. Her pink veil was attached to a diamond tiara shaped with hearts. She carried a bouquet of pink and ivory roses trimmed with greenery.

Terkesia Jones of Gaffney attended her sister as maid of honor while Cecily G. McCluney of Gastonia, friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Marcella Hollis of Simpsonville, Kimberly Jones of Gaffney, aunt of the bride, Dushieka Hardy, LaKendra Rainey, Rosa Manning, Quintina Crosby, cousins of the bride, Linda Littlejohn, cousin of the groom, April Littlejohn, sister of the groom, Cantina Hollis, Tondra Pearson, Sondra Pearson and Natasha Smith of Gaffney.

Mar-Dekiata Littlejohn of Gaffney, daughter of the bride and groom, was the miniature bride and Timothy Scott McCluney Jr. of Gastonia was the miniature groom.

Shandria Halsey of Gaffney, goddaughter of the bride and groom, and Aniyah Littlejohn of Gaffney, niece of the groom, were flower girls. They handed out long-stem ivory roses as they walked down the aisle.

Maliyah Dawkins of Gaffney, niece of the bride, dropped pink and coral flower petals.

Doryel Jones of Gaffney, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer.

Frederick Littlejohn, brother of the groom, and Ryan F. Hollis, both of Gaffney, were the groom's best men. Groomsmen were Thomas Logan Jr., Bill Bonner, Jonathan Reid and Shannon Bonner of Gaffney, cousins of the groom, Darell Jones, uncle of the bride, Kentrell Jones and Paul Marlowe Jr. of Gaffney, cousins of the bride, Theo Wicks, Ronald Hollis, John Morris, James McGill Jr., Glen Ellis, Edward Davidson of Gaffney and James Bell of Jonesville.

The guest register was attended by Phyllis Adams and Carolyn Keeter. Programs were distributed by Roxanne Littlejohn and Kathy Littlejohn. The wedding was directed by Verlinda Mintz.

Prior to the wedding, the bride was entertained with numerous showers and parties.

On April 7, a lingerie shower was given by RoseMary Marlowe, aunt of the bride, and Tondra Pearson.

A miscellaneous shower was hosted by Kim Jones, aunt of the bride, TerKesia Jones, sister of the bride, Rosa Manning and Lakendra Rainey, cousins of the bride, on April 21.

On April 28, a bridal shower was given by most of the bridesmaids and Kathy Littlejohn.
