Bethany Baptist presents Christmas program by youths and children

The youths and children of Bethany Baptist Church, 215 Wilkinsville Hwy., will present their Christmas program, "Bows of Holly," Sunday, Dec. 16, at 6 p.m.

The story follows Bethany, played by Leanne Starnes, who has launched a Christmas toy and food drive for the needy. It's for a good cause and her heart is in the right place - at first. When she starts getting a lot of publicity, it seems she loses focus on the reason she's doing it. Then when everything she has collected is stolen by some street kids, Bethany's "gifts" start having strings attached.

"This story will parallel the story of God's gift to us... so perfect and undeserved," said the Rev. Roger W. Ham, pastor.

As the last song is presented, the audience will have an opportunity to bring to the altar the gifts they have cho- sen to share with PeachCenter Ministries this season.

Following the program, there will be a gift exchange and fruit bags will be distributed. Everyone is invited to stay and enjoy a finger-food fellowship.
