Walter David Pelzer Jr.

Walter David Pelzer Jr., 62, of 201 Byars Circle, passed away Dec. 16 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Oklahoma, he was the husband of Ola Richards Pelzer and son of the late Walter David Pelzer Sr. and Billie Pelzer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and was disabled.

In addition to his wife, Pelzer is survived by three stepsons, Gene Hill of Blacksburg, Bill HIll of Gaffney, and Joe Pruitt of Tennessee; two stepdaughters, Jule Gaut of Blacksburg and Kathy Dover of Gaffney; a sister, Colleen Pelzer of San Francisco, Ca., and 17 grandchildren, Eddie Gaut, Brian Gaut, Gary Gaut, James Gaut, Josh Gaut, Destiny Gaut, April Dixon, Melissa Dixon, Tyra Dixon, Scottie Hopper, Josh Hill, Buster Hill, Tina Lynn HIll, Joseph Hill, Jonathan Raines, Ashley Raines and Brenda Raines.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Lucky Earls. Interment will be in Clingman Memorial Gardens in Blacksburg.

The family will be at the residence.
