Longtime chairman wants to retain post

      Incumbent Cherokee County Council Chairman Hoke Parris wouldn't mind keeping that title. Parris announced at Monday's council meeting that he would seek to retain his chairmanship. "I offer myself as chairman," Parris said. Council will elect new officers at its first meeting of 2008.
