Irvin adds to his ring collection
Former Gaffney standout member of 3-time national champs

      Brett Irvin is running out of fingers. Irvin earned his second national championship ring Friday when he and his Appalachian State teammates topped Delaware 49-21 for the school's unprecedented third straight Football Championship Subdivision.

      The Gaffney boys basketball team would like to ring in the new year without a loss. That might happen if the Indians can beat the homestanding Dorman Cavaliers today. Gaffney coach Mark Huff said the Cavaliers will offer a stern test for his undersized 5-0 Indians.
