Council chair will seek re-election

Incumbent Cherokee County Council Chairman Hoke Parris wouldn't mind keeping that title.

Parris announced at Monday's council meeting that he would seek to retain his chairmanship.

Council will elect new officers at its first meeting of 2008.

Parris, who is up for reelection to his council seat in 2008, has served as chairman for 15 of his 18 years on council.
