WARE SHOALS - William Maurice Hopper, 47, of 25 Green Acres Drive, died Saturday, Dec.15, 2007, at Savannah Heights Living Center, McCormick.

Born in Shelby, N.C., he was the son of the late Sarah Allen Posey. He was a member of the Macedonia CME Church, where he served as a steward and also was a member of the singing group, the Exciting Harris Brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Hurley Hopper of the home; father, Wilbert Posey of Cowpens; children, William Hopper Jr., Nadia Armstrong, Kay'Cee Hopper and Jasmine Hopper, all of Gaffney, Quincentia Armstrong, Akron, Ohio, and Keonah Hopper, Middlesburg, Ky.; siblings, Mary Bronson, Queen Lee, and Wilbert Posey Jr., all of Cowpens; stepdaughters, Sharelle Maddox and Tonya Harrison, both of Ware Shoals; five grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Macedonia CME Church, conducted by the Rev, William T. Lee. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Body will be placed in the church at noon.

The body will be at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Cowpens today from 5-7 p.n .

The family is at the residence.
