Helen Blackwell Helen Henderson Blackwell, 81, of 392 Park Gate Road, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, at her residence. Born in Chesnee, she was the wife of Francis L. Blackwell and daughter of the late Carl F. Henderson and Bertha Mae Blackwell Henderson. She was retired from the textile industry and was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Chris E. Dale of Marietta, Ga.; two sisters, Pauline Price of Gaffney and Lucille Henderson Roberson and husband, William, of Forest City, N.C.; a granddaughter, Sherrie Clayton; and two greatgrandchildren, Timmy Clayton and Christopher Clayton. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Blackwell was preceded in death by four sisters, Corrine Fowler, Grace Conner, Ruth Deese and Evelyn Doggett. Visitation was held Tuesday from 2-3 p.m. at Salem Presbyterian Church. Immediately following the visitation, services were held at 3 p.m. at the church, conducted by the Rev. Scott Hill. Interment was in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 1612 N. Limestone St., Gaffney, S.C. 29341; or to Cherokee County Meals on Wheels, P.O.
