Report says alcohol not involved in fatal accident

The S.C. Highway Patrol stated in its report that alcohol was not involved in an accident Saturday, Dec. 15 that resulted in the death of a bicyclist in Gaffney.

Kevin Eugene Sarratt, 44, of 528 Boiling Springs Highway died at 8:50 p.m. on S.C. Highway 150 from injuries received when he was struck by a 2005 Suzuki driven by Gastonia resident Erik Mowrey. Sarratt was not wearing a helmet and was riding in the middle of the road in heavy rain when the accident occurred.
