Charles Kendrick
Charles Edward Kendrick, 79, of 686 Bonner Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, at his residence.
Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Ruth Bailey Kendrick and son of the late I.B. Kendrick and Edna Ward Kendrick. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service and also retired from Duke Power Company after 10 years of service. He was a Mason with Granard Lodge 186 and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Martha Mann of Gaffney and Nita Phillips and husband, Tim, also of Gaffney; two sisters, Marie Herrin and Carolyn Fowler, both of Gaffney; four grandchildren, Charlie Mann, Mary Mullinax, Katie Goodson and Joy Phillips; and three great-grandchildren, Christian Ellis, Caleb Ellis and Bailee Mullinax.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Kendrick was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Kendrick, and a greatgrandson, Zachary Ellis.
Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Revs. Darrell Revels and Steve Sisk.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials be made to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1886, Gaffney, S.C. 29342.
The family is at the home of Nita and Tim Phillips, 236 Phillips Farm Road, Gaffney.
