Excellent cook and seamstress

MYRTLE BEACH - Flora Williams Baber, 81 of Ocean Creek Plantation, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at Myrtle Beach Manor.

She was born Sept.12, 1926, in Horry County, a daughter of the late Daniel Wright and Beatrice Caroline Graham Williams.

Flo was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and grandmother and will be missed by those who knew her. She attended Limestone College in Gaffney, where she met her husband, Charlie. Mrs. Baber was a member of First United Methodist Church of Myrtle Beach, loved walking on the beach, collecting seashells and was an avid gardener. She was an excellent cook and seamstress and was a former employee at Suzanne's Store at Myrtle Square Mall.

Survivors include her husband of over 61 years, Charles B. Baber Jr. of Myrtle Beach; two sons, Dr. Charles B. Baber III and his wife, Rita, of Cartersville, Ga., and Daniel W. "Bill" Baber and his wife, Marla, of Portland, Oregon; two brothers, Arthur and Roger Williams, both of Myrtle Beach; three sisters, Sophie Blanton of Cary, N.C., Alice McKenzie of Decatur, Ga., and Lois Pike of West Palm Beach, Fla.; four granddaughters, Marianne, Laura, Savannah and Caroline; two great-grandsons, Payton and Nolan; and a special niece, Pam Catoe.

A memorial service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at McMillan-Small Funeral Home with the Rev. Scarlet Tanner-Hester officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
