Local AKA chapter adds 4 new members

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. is an international sorority of college-educated women. The sorority was organized on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C., in 1908.

Since it was founded, the organization now has a membership over 80,000 women who serve their communities in every state and several foreign countries.

Lambda Rho Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. recently inducted four new members. The membership drive brought the local chapter to 19 members.

Lambda Rho Omega annually awards scholarships and supports other local charities.

The local chapter is led by president, Cheryll Smith. Barika Tate the chairman of membership.

The organization's new members are Willa Marie Curry, Nicole Briscoe, LaKesha Logan and Charlotte Holloway.
