Willie Jeter, 93, of 205 Michigan Ave., widow of the Rev. L.J. Jeter, departed this life on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at 12:25 a.m in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Daughter of the late Will Gregory and the late Anna Gregory, she was born in the Pee Ridde community of Union County. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she sang in the Jubilee Choir and was a member of the J.W. Sanders Missionary Circle. She was retired as a supervisor of housekeeping at Cherokee County Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are four daughters, Sara Tate, Gerald Jeter Sims, Anna Watkins and Corles Smith, all of Gaffney; two sons, Odell Jeter and Luther Jeter of Gaffney; reared as her children, Joe Stevenson of Gaffney and Ollie Hogue of Spartanburg; 19 grandchildren, two of them, Betty Jeter of Gaffney and Lance Jeter of Newbury, N.Y., were reared in the home; 29 greatgrandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Gerald Jeter Sims, Apt. E-19, Granard Courts.
