WOODRUFF - Thelma Steward Blanton, 82, a resident of Woodruff Manor, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at Woodruff Manor.
Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of James O. Blanton and daughter of the late Clarence E. Steward and Maude McKinney Steward. She was a homemaker and member of New Hope Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Charles O. Campbell and wife, Patti, of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Chad Campbell, Clay Campbell, Jeff Vinesett, Jamie Vinesett and Kandy Belue; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Blanton was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy C. Vinesett, and two brothers, Charles E. Steward and William O. Steward.
Graveside services were held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Frederick Memorial Gardens, conducted by Ashby Blakely. The family will meet with friends at the graveside after the service.
The family is at the home of Charles and Patti Campbell, 163 Hillcrest Drive.
