COWPENS - Wanda Blankenship Moore-Vernon, 69, of 112 Seminole Trail, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at Mary Black Meorial Hospital.

Born Jan. 21, 1939, in Richlands, Va., she was the daughter of the late Dave and Minnie Mae Hogsten Blankenship. She was the wife of Cleveland R. Vernon and was first married to the late James Gaylon Moore. She was employed by Hardee's of Cowpens and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Cowpens.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Elizabeth Gayle List of Gaffney; a son, Jimmy G. Moore of Cowpens; three granddaughters, Deneen N. Hammett and Joni M. List, both of Gaffney, and Savanna S. Moore of Cowpens; and three grandsons, James D. Anderson of Gaffney, James W. Moore and Damion Moore, both of Cowpens.

Visitation will be Thursday from 1-1:45 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church of Cowpens. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the church, conducted by the Rev. Henry Coley. Burial will be in Cleveland Memorial Park in Shelby, N.C.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wanda B. Moore-Vernon Memorial Fund, P.O. Drawer 1530, Spartanburg, S.C. 29304.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Elizabeth G. List, 154 Whispering Pines Road, Gaffney.
